Working with patients and their families provides many opportunities for relationship building and sharing of hope and love. You will be required to:

Provide practical teaching and on-the-job training for local staff
Treat patients
Help run short-term medical training for hospitals at county or township level
Take care of administration and logistics for short-term teams
Liaise between short-term teams and local health care givers and officials

Physiotherapy is a much neglected rehabilitation method at county level in the heath care system. Apart from traditional Chinese medicine style rehabilitation like stretching & massage, there are no professional physiotherapists here. Therefore its practice requires a mindset shift not only for patients but also for the therapist as patients and their families have to be educated about its approach and the need for perseverance.
